Ab initio experimental violation of Bell inequalities

چکیده
The violation of a Bell inequality is the paradigmatic example device-independent quantum information: nonclassicality data certified without knowledge functioning devices. In practice, however, all experiments rely on precise understanding underlying physical mechanisms. Given that, it natural to ask: Can one witness nonclassical behavior in truly black-box scenario? Here, we propose and implement, computationally experimentally, solution this ab initio task. It exploits robust automated optimization approach based stochastic Nelder-Mead algorithm. Treating preparation measurement devices as black boxes, relying observed statistics only, our adaptive protocol approaches optimal after limited number iterations for variety photonic states, responses, scenarios. particular, exploit randomness certification from unknown states measurements. Our results demonstrate power algorithms, opening venue experimental implementation technologies.

Experimental violation of multipartite Bell inequalities with trapped ions.
We report on the experimental violation of multipartite Bell inequalities by entangled states of trapped ions. First, we consider resource states for measurement-based quantum computation of between 3 and 7 ions and show that all strongly violate a Bell-type inequality for graph states, where the criterion for violation is a sufficiently high fidelity. Second, we analyze Greenberger-Horne-Zeili...
متن کاملExperimental violation of Bell inequalities for multi-dimensional systems
Quantum correlations between spatially separated parts of a d-dimensional bipartite system (d ≥ 2) have no classical analog. Such correlations, also called entanglements, are not only conceptually important, but also have a profound impact on information science. In theory the violation of Bell inequalities based on local realistic theories for d-dimensional systems provides evidence of quantum...
متن کاملAsymptotic violation of Bell inequalities and distillability.
A multipartite quantum state violates a Bell inequality asymptotically if, after jointly processing by general local operations an arbitrarily large number of copies of it, the result violates the inequality. In the bipartite case we show that asymptotic violation of the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt inequality is equivalent to distillability. Hence, bound entangled states do not violate it. In th...
متن کاملViolation of Bell inequalities for beables
Violation of Bell inequalities for beables is well-known to be possible because of what has become known as the “conspiracy” loophole, but this route to a beables model is properly discounted as implausible, essentially because it requires correlations between instrument settings and hidden beables. This paper identifies a further loophole, called here the “correlation” loophole, which is more ...
متن کاملStrangeness Measurements of Kaon Pairs, Cp Violation and Bell Inequalities
The nonlocal property of quantum mechanics can be nicely tested in high energy physics; in particular, the neutral kaon pairs as produced at DAΦNE, Frascati, are very well suited. The analogies of kaons as compared to polarized photons or spin– 1 2 particles —the kaonic qubit feature— are reviewed. However, there are also fundamental differences which occur due to the kaon time evolution and du...
